Screenwriting

Tyrel Lougheed studied screenwriting at Vancouver Film School where he mastered many different styles, genres, and formats. Tyrel has been a finalist in several competitions and was in the top 3 selected by the BOLT screenplay competion for a yet unproduced short film script, Let’s Get Physical.

Story Editing

Tyrel Lougheed is an experienced Story Editor of screenplays. Tyrel loves to help screenwriters see the full picture and scope of their work. Tyrel was selected to help story edit writers in the ImagineNATIVE film festival in 2023. In 2024 Tyrel was selected by the Image+Nation festival to help new writers create a short screenplay they could pitch.

Digital Art/Illustrations

Tyrel Lougheed is a self-taught artist and loves designing pop-culture art/posters on his Instagram. The hobby started when he challenged himself to draw pictures from each episode of Degrassi Junior High, High, and Next Generation (a series he has always been fond of)

Acting

Tyrel Lougheed has always been a lover of acting. In high school, he was awarded the annual Theatre Award despite not being in any productions. Tyrel loves to act in both male and female roles. Wendy GoGo is the name of Tyrel’s female persona.

Directing

Tyrel Lougheed has recently completed his first funded short film, This Modern Love, which he acted in, produced, directed, edited, and wrote. The film was financed with support by the Indigenous Screen Office. Tyrel’s second short, HallowQUEENS was a 48-Hour contest entry for Edmonton Short Film Festival. Tyrel’s third short, CROSS, was funded by Indigenous Screen Office and is currently being entered into festivals for consideration.

Producing

Tyrel loves the challenge of organizing a production from funding to actual filming, Tyrel loves to assist others in their craft. Tyrel has produced the 3 short films listed on this website and is in talks to produced a short written by local Edmonton filmmaker, Steve Winjet.
